IQ Testing

While using the IQ tests and going through the way that participants are scored I realized how in depth it must be to be the procter, measuring someone's IQ. My preconceived notion of an IQ test was a bubble sheet with multiple choice answers, such as the SATs had been. After realizing how much training probably must go into becoming a test giver I now understand the difficulty. People's actions and answers had to be timed, recorded, and decided to be a certain score of intelligence. I also believe it must be difficult to test without bias. I'm sure you can train a test taker to be as aware as bias as possible but as psychologists we know that we are internally programmed to have biases on people's intelligence no matter what we know to be fair. This may be another example of why racial IQ scores are different still. If you have previous knowledge of a certain race doing historically better on IQ tests than you will have preconceived notions about that race and maybe not test them as fairly as you could have.
